Discover Financial Services has agreed to a $1.2 billion settlement to resolve class-action lawsuits alleging that the company overcharged merchants due to the misclassification of certain credit card accounts. Beginning in 2007, Discover misclassified specific card accounts into its highest merchant pricing tier, resulting in merchants incurring higher fees than appropriate.
Discover has already set aside the $1.2 billion to cover the refunds associated with the settlement.
If you owed a business from 2007 and 2023 and accepted Discover then all you have to do is file a claim.
